    Dr. Kavita Arora
    Ph.D., MS, OTR/L., MS PT – Director

    Dr. Kavita Arora has over 25 years of experience of working with children and adults of various types of diagnosis of all ages. She is trained and certified in various specialized therapy modalities and techniques.

    Ajay Barma
    BS PT, MS Health Administration

    Ajay Barma has many years of experience in working with all types of clients with special needs and has extensive experience in administration of the rehab departments. He has worked with organizations like Fulton and Birchwood Nursing Homes, Better Health Care, Dominion Health and Fitness, and Anchor/Flagship Rehabilitation. His strengths are: excellent report writing for ADR reviews, marketing and promoting healthcare services, planning programs and achieving set targets, analyzing problems and working out implementation strategies, and evaluating health interventions and healthcare programs. He is also an excellent clinician and is an instant hit with all kids who come to him for therapy.

    • Received BS in OT at Elizabethtown College, PA in 2000

    Therapist for 17 years while working in a variety of settings including mental health, nursing homes, hospitals, sub acute rehabs, home health, and schools. Favorite setting to work in is pediatrics. I have been working at Sensational Kidz Therapy since 2012 and enjoy the private practice setting as well as with this wonderful population. I use my expertise and prior work experiences to assist in creating the most effective and valuable treatment plans and goals for my patients.

    Joyce Barry
    RDH, MS OTR/L

    Registered Occupational Therapist with over a 20 year track record in client centered, collaborative and efficient care. I possess a passion for empowering individuals towards attending to and maintaining their highest level of functioning, so they may attain their highest level of prosperity. I graduated magna cum laude and served for five years as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Minnesota before earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Developmental Child Psychology and Public Health at the University of Minnesota. I attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota to secure a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

    Additionally, I have certification in massage therapy, CPR and First Aid. I have been recognized by management in both Dental Hygiene and Occupational Therapy settings for superior client care. I enjoy listening to music, gardening, cooking and listening to inspiring talks.

    Monique Washington
    MS SLP, CCC

    Monique Washington received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from East Carolina University and her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from North Carolina Central University. She obtained a certificate of completion for specializing in Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Global Diversity Issues. Monique has experience working with individuals ranging in age and with a variety of disorders. Monique previously worked at the Autism Society of North Carolina in which she helped individuals with daily functional goals. She has gained experience in a variety of clinical settings such as public schools, skilled nursing facilities developmental centers, and a toddler assistive technology clinic.

    Lauren Avery
    MS SLP, CCC

    Lauren Avery graduated with her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University San Marcos in 2016. She has since moved to northern Virginia where she is stationed with her USMC husband and young son. She is a fully credentialed SLP and nationally certified through ASHA as well as state licensed in Virginia.

    Lauren’s primary interest in communication disorders focuses on pediatric articulation and mixed receptive/expressive language delays/disorders. She has gained extensive experience treating these deficits in a variety of settings (early intervention, private practice, school-based) and amongst a variety of ages (from toddler to teens). She is passionate about working with patients and their families to increase communication skills for an overall improved quality of life!

    Ruth Ann Barnes
    MS SLP, CCC

    Ruth Ann Barnes comes to use with over 30 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist. Ruth Ann is experienced in working with infants, preschoolers, school aged speech and language disorders. She has a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, and a Master’s of Science from James Madison University. Ruth Ann also had experience
    working with adults with speech difficulties due to neurological etiologies. Ruth Ann also enjoys working with parents and sharing how to reinforce skills at home. Her expertise includes articulation, apraxia, and parent training. Her past experience includes public schools, early intervention, adult rehab and teaching at the University level. She signs
    cues and is experienced in using visual phonics. She has vast experience with dysphasia, apraxia, articulation disorders, developmental language delays as well as working with children with Autism and hearing impairments! She enjoys providing services to infant and toddlers and pairing with parents to assist them in facilitating language at home.

  • Chauntae Brown
    MS SLP CCC

    Chauntae Brown, M.A., CCC-SLP has been a Speech Language Pathologist with Sensational Kidz Therapy Services since April 2016. She is a graduate of Hampton University where she received her Baccalaureate and Masters degrees in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in Virginia. Chauntae has experience working in school and private practice settings. She enjoys working with children and providing them with the necessary tools needed for them to be effective and functional communicators. Chauntae has experiences with but not limited to phonological/articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome. She completed her clinical fellowship in the spring of 2017 and is continuing to enjoy providing speech and language services to local families.

  • Anita Villines
    MS SLP CCC

    Anita Villines, MS SLP CCC brings more than 15 years of experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology and Communication Disorders. She is licensed to practice in the state of VA and by the Department of Health Professions and holds her clinical competencies certification through the national boards of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

    The bulk of these years, she has worked in the educational setting with pre-school aged children who had the diagnosis of various Developmental Delays ranging from Autism Spectrum Disorders to Partial Trisomy 13 syndromes. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to work with 9th-grade students who were diagnosed with a range of disabilities from intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities and language delays.

    She has graduated from two states of Virginia institutions of higher learning where she earned undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Speech Pathology and Audiology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Education specializing in Communication Disorders from the University of Virginia.

    She has had the opportunity to work with families who have recently learned of the challenges that they are facing based on their child’s diagnosis and helped families develop individualized education plans to suit the needs of their child.

    She continues to invest in my career by participating in professional development in various areas of speech-language ranging from Sound Production, Fluency, and Language Learning to ways to support behavioral challenges and therapeutic strategies. Recently, she participated in a cohort and received certificates of completion for Low-Tech Augmentative Alternative Communication supports hosted as an initiative from Virginia Common Wealth University and participated in Virginia Department of Education Speech-language conference.

    Anita is passionate about civic support groups and organizations, that provide resources and consultation for members of the community.

    MS SLP, CCC

    Christina Thompson graduated from the American University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Spanish/Latin American Studies. She earned a Master’s of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the George Washington University in 2012. She began her career working at a private school for kids with autism and learning disabilities. She has since worked in pediatric private practice and early intervention. Christina specializes in Speech Sound Disorders, Reading Challenges with a certificate in the Phono-graphix reading method, Receptive and Expressive Language Disorders, and training specific to Autism Spectrum Disorders, in particular social and pragmatic language disorders.

    Mary Francis Little
    MPT

    Mary Francis Little, MPT has received her BS is Sociology and Political Science at Virginia Tech University and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy (cum laude) at Shenandoah University. She has been a physical therapist for over 25 years in a multitude of settings including: out-patient, acute care, in-house rehabilitation and home health. She has completed internships in neurological rehabilitation at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC and John Hopkin’s Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Through this experience, pediatrics has proven to be my calling. Recognizing the unique gifts each child possesses has allowed me to reach a level of treatment excellence that every child deserves. Majority of the time she focuses from ankle and foot up as she is of the belief that the neutrality of the “foot and ankle” are the basis for postural security, appropriate body scheme, endurance, balance, focus and thus success. Mary also has expertise in working with clients with back pain, knee pain, as well as with Women’s Health issues. She has been with Sensational Kidz Therapy since 2013. I look forward to helping each and every child or adult succeed to their highest potential and quality of life.

  • Matthew D’Aria
    MS, RDN, LPTA

    We are very excited to have Matthew D’Aria be a part of our team. Matthew has been a licensed physical therapist assistant since 2007, and he is also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. His area of interest is working with children and their families, in all aspects of their life. Matthew believes that overall wellness comes from good nutrition, and that eating well, can be affordable and simple. Matthew takes great pride in his work and he looks forward to working both with you, your family, and your child in order to help you reach your goals through rehabilitation and or nutrition.

    Matthew graduated from Virginia Tech with his bachelors and masters degree in nutrition. He completed his dietetic internship at Meredith College. Matthew has a certificate of training through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for adult and childhood overweight and obesity.

    While being a student at Virginia Tech, Matthew was a nutrition counselor for one and a half years consulting with students, faculty and staff. As a dietetic intern, he experienced different settings, from working with athletes at the collegiate level to working with patients at a hospital. He also took some time off to work with the UVA football team and assist the director of sports nutrition. Matthew continues to look for new experiences and broaden his nutrition knowledge.
